New Delhi: Amid the two years completion celebration
of Modi-sarkar, Congress president
Sonia Gandhi, party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and the former Prime Minister,
Manmohan Singh were found protesting under the banner of ‘Save Democracy’. In the bright light of Friday morning, the
Congress big-shots with party personnel like Jyotiraditya Scindia and Renuka
Chowdhury led the proteast march. Reports are that the high profile leaders of
the Opposition party were taken to the Parliament Street police station and
released within 20 minutes.
Apart from the save democracy sloganeering, as many
as 2000 congressmen were found claiming explanations for Augusta Westland,
breaking the police cordon and shouting “Down with dictatorship, Augusta
Westland is BJP’s game.” However, Friday’s protest was also termed as a part of
the series of which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment at Chennai is also a
piece. Modi said: “They were identified as culprits by the people of Italy,
what we can do? I haven’t been to Italy, I don’t know anyone there,” clarifying
his party’s position in the Augusta Westland row.
Reports are, few hours after Friday’s movement by
the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party declared that they will hold another protest
at Jantar Mantar against the same Augusta Westland case. Uncertain about his presence,
the Delhi CM ultimately attended the protest march with AAP- party leaders like
Ashutosh, Kumar Vishwas, and Sanjay Singh among others.
“BJP has not done anything in the last two years.
Why Narendra Modi is so scared of Sonia Gandhi. Modi does not have the courage
to arrest Sonia Gandhi,” Kejriwal said in the protest march.
