Cannes 2016: Raman Raghav 2.0 Screening Gifts A Standing Ovation

New Delhi: The 69th Cannes Film Festival rightly recognized actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who was recently casted in Anurg Kashyap’s Raman Raghav 2.0. The film, first screened at the internationally famed film festival, has applauded Siddiqui with a standing ovation, cheers and claps.


Raman Raghav 2.0. portrays the 41-year-old actor as a ‘notorious’ psycho-serial killer in the 1960s’ Mumbai ‘who went on a murder spree’ at that time. Apart from Siddiqui in the lead role, Vicky Kaushal plays the role of a police officer, equally important in the story. Sobhita Dhuliwala, Anuschka Sawhney and Mukesh Chhabra are others who were casted in the film, scheduled to release on June 24, 2016.   




Raman Raghav 2.0 was praised by some internationally acclaimed film websites too: “The verve and nerve of Kashyap’s filmmaking continues to excite.” Reports are that Raman Raghav 2.0 is the eighth film of Nawazuddin Siddiqui at the Cannes. His other films include- Gangs of Wasseypur, Miss Lovely and Liar’s Dice. Also, his debut production Miyan Kal Aana, directed by Shamas Siddiqui, Nawaz’s brother, was also screened at the festival.
