Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata
Banerjee will take oath for her second innings as the Chief Minister on Friday
with her more 42 party MLAs. The swearing in ceremony will start at 11 am on
Friday and will take place will complete extravaganza at the Red Road.
As many as 40,000 invitees are expected to attend
the ceremony with high-profile guests. Reports are the full list of MLA’s who
will take oath on Friday was submitted to West Bengal state Governor K.N.
Tripathi on Thursday evening by Banerjee. The final list of ministers has 17
new faces. Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee, former Indian cricketer Laxmi Ratan
Shukla and noted singer Indranil Sen will be among new faces to take oath as ministers.
Firhad Hakim, the ‘Narada-tainted’
leader, will retain in his quota as minister too for the second term of TMC in
the state.
The swearing in ceremony will be conducted in
the ‘presence of a galaxy of political heavyweights’ from nation and abroad. Bhutan’s
Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Bangladesh Industry Minister Amir Hossain Amu
will attend the ceremony on Friday. While the State BJP leaders have decided to
not attend the swearing in ceremony at Red Road, Arun Jaitley and Babul Supriyo
have confirmed their presence in the function. Chief Ministers Arvind Kejriwal,
Akhilesh Yadav, Nitish Kumar and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq
Abdullah will be present in the function, said reports. The state Congress and Left
parties has denied attending the ceremony as well.
A tight security arrangement was made for the oath
taking ceremony. Sources said that as many as 1000 policemen were appointed
across the area. “Around 40 senior officers of the rank of Deputy Commissioner
will be present at the venue. Plainclothesmen will also be present at the site,”
said an officer who is deployed at Red Road.
