Winnie-The-Pooh Turns 90

The adorable animation character Winnie-The-Pooh will celebrate its 90th birthday this year along with United Kingdom’s Queen Elizabeth II, who has also celebrated her 90th birth anniversary few days back.

To commemorate both of the birthdays, a new story has been released- Winnie-the-Pooh and the Royal Birthday. Already available for free online, the new story of the bear leaves its home, the Hundred Acre Wood to present a birthday gift to the Queen.

Reports are that the new story will have the same cast of characters that was first represented by A.A. Milne in 1926. Pooh, Piglet, Eyore, Owl, Kanga and Christopher Robin’s list include this time an animated version of Prince George too. The story has been written and illustrated in the classic EH Shepard style written by Jane Riordan.

The complete story was narrated by Jim Broadbent. He said: “There's such a wit and a style to the stories that adults enjoy reading them to children. The children love them and they then love them and want to pass them on to the next generation and they carry on.”
