Shah Rukh Khan Roped In For Imtiaz Ali's Next

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan has been roped in for Imtiaz ali’s next film which is a comedy-drama taking place across London and Punjab.
Earlier, rumors were abuzz that Ali was going to cast Aamir Khan for the same role, but now things have been confirmed that it is going to be Shah Rukh Khan.
The yet untitled film will follow the adventures of a Sikh tourist, to be played by Shah Rukh, travelling across the India and UK. Ali revealed that Shah Rukh will play a simpleton and will be seen interacting with a number of British citizens so as to ensure his return to his motherland, India. For this role, Shah Rukh will be seen wearing the typical Sikh attire of a turban and will sport a beard as well.
The movie is said to go on floors as soon as Khan wraps up the shoot of Gauri Shinde’s film with Alia Bhatt. However unlike Ali’s previous ventures, this film with Shah Rukh will not be a romantic film. Travel will play an important part of the story. The lead female actor is yet to be finalized.
Last year, when rumors of their collaboration had reached a crescendo, the star had reportedly said, "We are friends, and sometimes we just want to know what we are thinking, not with me in these projects necessarily. So, Imtiaz and I have done this exercise many times. We both feel that one day we will come together for a film, and if that happens, it will be very nice. I would love to work with Imtiaz. “
