Mumbai: The feud
between Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut has escalated to a whole new level,
with both the actors sending legal notices to each other.
Hrithik sent a notice
to Kangana last month, demanding an ‘unconditional apology’ for a ‘defaming’
remark in an interview where she allegedly referred to him as ‘silly ex’. In
reply, Kangana retaliated with a 21-page legal notice, charging him with
intimidation and threat.
In an official
statement, Hrithik said: “Anything private that becomes public gives rise to
speculation and unnecessary controversies simply because the general public is not
privy to the whole truth.” “It was a breach of ethics to reveal the contents of
a private legal notice. Dignified silence is dignified up to a point, but there
comes a time when the silence needs to be broken to protect one's name, family
and image,” he further added.
Kangana’s lawyer Rizwan
Siddiqui said Hrithik was sent a counter 14 days ago, asking him to take back his
notice within seven days as “at no point did my client say that the ‘silly ex’
was actually Hrithik Roshan”. In an apparent rebuttal, Hrithik further took the
matter to Twitter to tweet, “There are more chances of me having had an affair
with the Pope than any of the (I’m sure wonderful) women the media has been
naming.”
The issue began when
Kangana hinted at Hrithik being her 'ex' as she said in an interview that she
fails to understand “why exes do silly things to get your attention”. Things
turned further sour when rumors of Hrithik playing a role in replacing Kangana
with Sonam Kapoor in Aashiqui 3
surfaced online.
