New Delhi: The only superhero for the 90’s kids in India
will be able to get back the essence on television again. Reports are that the
blockbuster TV series Mukesh Khanna in the lead role will hit the small screen
again.
Khanna, 57, who is till date popularly called as Shaktimaan both on and off-screen, said:
“I feel an actor can’t be restricted due to age. I feel age is just a number.
It depends on how you look and if you will be able to pull off the character
with full conviction.”
According to Mukesh Khanna, TV channels on which Shaktimaan will get telecasted are not
yet decided. However, actor-cum-producer Khanna said he is having discussions
with some TV channels now. In Shaktimaan,
Khanna played the role of a photojournalist, named as Pandit Gangadhar
Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri, popularly called Gangadhar. Gangadhar had
an ‘alter ego’ of a superhero, Shaktimaan.
It was said that Shaktimaan was like any other human
being who gained super powers by controlling his five bodily elements. A
learning session of few minutes for the kids at the end of the episode is till
now remembered apart from the super-heroism of the TV series.
