A video
titled ‘Waking up with Kolkata’- an aerial video made accidentally by a Kolkata
scientist became viral when he came to visit his hometown this month. Dr.
Sandip De, a Kolkata- born scientist working on the next generation machine
learning algorithms for materials discovery at Switzerland's research
university - The Ecole polytechnique federale de Lausanne claims himself a
self-taught photographer now experimenting with his camera capturing aerial
videos.
‘Waking up
with Kolkata’ has gone viral within days of it being uploaded on Youtube.
People who have watched it on his Facebook page and
website insist that Kolkata's monuments - Victoria Memorial, Shaheed
Minar, Howrah Bridge and the Vidyasagar Setu - have never looked so beautiful
before. De clarified to sources that it took him only half an hour to make the
three-minute long video of Kolkata. Viewers as well as Dr. De had said us that
Kolkata got a magical view with the video, with fog adding to it more thrill.
When asked
about his personal favorite among the monuments, De said that all of them had overpowered
another. Saheed Minar, with its symmetry and octagonal geometric design at the
base of the Minar added a special charm. De said that each and every
photographer from and in Kolkata has a unique photo of their own as a signature
mark. “It was not possible before” added the young scientist from Kolkata, to
look at Kolkata like this.
