Can’t Live Without Beef? Don’t Come To Haryana, Says Haryana BJP Minister

Haryana’s health minister Anil Vij, who is also a veteran supporter of Bharatiya Samajbadi Party (BJP), the ruling party of the nation, on Tuesday stroked a fresh row of controversy by saying “do not  come to Haryana if you cannot live without eating beef”.

Haryana’s ‘Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan’ bill passed by the State Assembly in March, 2015 came into action in last November. Under the provisions of the law, cow trafficking, slaughtering and eating beef are banned in Haryana. The law makes a complete ban on cow slaughter in the state and provides for rigorous imprisonment ranging from three to ten years for killing the animal.
Anil Vij, the veteran & loyal ruling party person, a party known for spreading ‘Hindutwa’ as their principle- is designated as the health minister of Haryana- has shifted his concern to the domestic animals’ well-being from humans, justified his point by saying that Indians do not visit many places and countries just because food habit of those places does not suit us. “Likewise, those people who can't live without eating beef should not come to Haryana,” says Vij.

As reports say, when asked about the state‘s Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s take in this issue, he said that there are plan to issue a special permission and give relaxation to foreigners living in the state. Otherwise, Haryana’s ‘Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan’ bill will proceed accordingly.
