UFC Champion Kevin Randleman Passes Away At 44

American mixed martial artist and UFC Champion Kevin Randleman passed away from heart failure at the age of 44 on Thursday, 11th February.
The martial arts fighter, who was nicknamed ‘The Monster’, was diagnosed with pneumonia and was admitted to a San Diego hospital, where he perished. He is survived by his wife and three children, including a baby boy.
Randleman debuted in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) in the year 1999. Within just 3 matches into his career, he showed everyone that he is a force to reckon with, as he became the heavyweight champion of the world. Randleman defeated Pete Williams to win the vacant title and then went on to defend it against Pedro Rizzo in June 2000.
One of Randleman's biggest moments came in a 2004 fight against Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, who was a massive favorite in the PRIDE heavyweight grand prix at the time. Randleman floored the former kickboxer with a huge punch early in the first round before finishing the fight a few seconds later with some vicious ground and pound. Randleman's win is still considered one of the most shocking moments in the history of the sport.
His final fight came in the year 2011, after which he got himself busy with the Tapout Training Program.
Kevin was born on 10th August, 1971 in Sandusky, Ohio, USA. Following the breakout news of his death, numerous members from the MMA community took to Twitter to send their condolences to his family.

  1. During their stay in camps, the fighters have to train hard and focus on reducing their water weight. This goes on till they don’t finally reach the weigh-in date.
