Grammy 2016: Taylor Swift Emerges On Top

The Grammy this year crowned Taylor Swift queen bee as her “1989” took the Album Of The Year award at the 58th Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday night. She also won two other Grammys in the category of Best Music Video for “Bad Blood” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “1989”.
Swift pointed out in her speech that she is the first woman to win Album Of The Year twice and added: “I want to say to all the young women out there – there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.”
Kendrick Lamar was the next big star of the night as he won four trophies earned. Those awards were Rap Album Of The Year for “To Pimp a Butterfly”, Rap Performance And Rap Song Of The Year for “Alright”, Rap/Sung Collaboration Of The Year (with Bilal, Anna Wise and Thundercat) for “These Walls” — and Best Music Video for “Bad Blood”.
Lady Gaga took up to the stage to pay tribute to David Bowie was a hectic mash-up of his most famous hits done in full glam rock regalia.
Indian-British director Asif Kapadia registered a win in Best Music Film section for his documentary “Amy”.
Meanwhile, it was a disappointing night for Adele as her anticipating performances was met with sharp criticism. Many claimed that the Grammy award winning singer sounded flat, although reports claim that it was because of technical errors.

At the end of the night, Kendrick was the most decorated artist with five awards. He was followed by Alabama Shakes (Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’ and Best Alternative Music Album for ‘Sound & Color’) and Taylor Swift both with three wins each.
