The score board
showed- New Zealand 246 (45.3 overs); Australia 191 (43.4 overs). The
Chappell-Hadlee Thropy seemed to find out its new champion, the New Zealand
team. The New Zealand cricket team had overpowered the Australian team in a
stunning manner and won the third one day series in Hamilton. The 55-run win
for a 2-1 series will live long in the minds of cricket fans and will remain as
a pleasantly won token for captain Brendon McCullum's final ODI.
The New
Zealand team had won the toss and selected to bat. The team was hopeful to have
a huge score due to Brendon McCullum’s fiery batting at early of the day. The
captain’s farewell seemed likely to be unpleasant by a dramatic batting
collapse and saw New Zealand lose its last six wickets for 23 runs to be all
out for 246, but the bowlers dismissed Australia for 191 with more than six overs
to spare, winning by 55 runs to settle a 2-1 series victory.
The day also
had faced few controversies for Marsh’s wicket by Matt Henry with a decision
from the third umpire. Australian captain Steve Smith had pointed out this
incident disappointed, as reports say. However the departing captain was seemed
to be the savior against New Zealand’s greatest rival. According to reports,
the captain had said in his farewell speech at the press release that while
playing against Australia one needs to give the best of him and his team played
outstanding leading to this Chappell-Hadlee Thropy victory. "I've been
incredibly lucky to play for 14 years and to represent my country and to play
with some great blokes," he said.
