Ram Gopal Verma Confirms Sarkar 3

Mumbai:  After successful prequels Sarkar and Sarkar Raj, actor Amitabh Bachchan and director Ram Gopal Verma will team up once more to bring us the third installment of the franchise.
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will not be a part of Sarkar 3, which is set to be shot in Mumbai and London. Shedding more light on the film, RGV was quoted saying that the film will focus on Sarkar’s life with a completely new set of characters who were not a part of the earlier films.
The hit franchise’s last installment, Sarkar Raj came out 8 years ago and thus, it was revealed by the director that changes needed to be made keeping the essence of Sarkar intact. The shooting is scheduled to happen in Mumbai and London.
Verma said: “I am as excited as a teenager on his first date because I take Sarkar 3 as an opportunity to redeem, reinvent and redefine myself, ” adding that at the moment Bachchan and he are together fine-tuning the script.
The 2005 film Sarkar followed Amitabh Bachchan in a Godfathersque avatar, with Abhishek Bachchan playing his son. After a three-year-break, they came with the sequel, Sarkar Raj, with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joining the cast. While Amitabh Bachchan was tight-lipped about the third installment to thethriller-franchise, his director was excited to reveal that he is ready to roll with it and is gearing up to shoot in London and Mumbai.
The critically acclaimed and commercially successful Sarkar franchise is set in the world of Marathi politics and crime.
