Mumbai: Actor Dilip
Kumar, who was admitted at Lilavati hospital last week, is likely to get
discharged today with all his medical parameters stable.
According to doctors treating him at the hospital, the
93-year-old actor is out of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is “on the road to
recovery”. “It is an old-age related health problem. But now, he is both
clinically and physically stable,” said Pulmonologist Dr Jalil Parker. Kumar
has been diagnosed with pneumonia and required ventilator support on April 16
when he developed fever.
Kuamr’s
wife, actress Saira Banu stated that treatment through oral drugs wouldn’t have
been so powerful as four injections worked wonders for Kumar. Putting to rest
to all the rumors that the veteran actor had been shifted to the ICU, Banu
stated that he was progressing well and keeping stable. The actor is soon to be
discharged from the hospital in a couple of days. Amitabh Bachchan took to his
extended family i.e. the Twitter handle to share the information of Kumar’s
speedy recovery from his ailment. He tweeted that the Mughal-E-Azam actor was doing extremely fine and that he
prayed to the Almighty for the speedy recovery of the actor.
Kumar is credited with films such as Aan, Daag, Madhumati, Paigham, Leader and Ram Aur
Shyam. After a career spanning a little over six decades, he stepped away from
the limelight in 1998. His last movie was Qila, which came out
in the same year.
