Bangalore: In the fourth
league stage match of 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers
Bangalore defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 45 runs at M Chinnaswamy
Stadium in Bangalore on Tuesday.
Winning the toss, Sunrisers
Hyderabad elected to field first. In the first innings, AB de Villiers was Royal
Challengers Bangalore’s highest scorer with 82 runs. He was followed by Virat
Kohli (75 runs), Sarfaraz Khan (35 runs) and Shane Robert Watson (19
runs). Khan remained not out. Rest of the players couldn’t score in
double-digits. Mustafizur Rahman and Bhuvneshwar Kumar Singh took four wickets each
for Sunrisers Hyderabad by giving 26 and 55 runs off four wickets each
respectively. Royal Challengers Bangalore scored a total of 227 runs off four wickets
at the end of the innings.
In the second innings, David
Andrew Warner was Sunrisers Hyderabad’s highest scorer with 58 runs. He was
followed by Ashish Reddy (32 runs), Karn Vinod Sharma (26 runs), Eoin Morgan
(22 runs) and Moises Henriques (19 runs). Morgan and Sharma remained not out. Watson
was Royal Challengers Bangalore’s best bowler of the night after he took two
wickets by giving 30 runs in four overs. Yuzvendra Chahal also took two wickets
by giving 43 runs in four overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore snatched victory after
Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 182 runs off six wickets at the end of 20 overs.

Royal Challengers
Bangalore will next face Delhi Daredevils on April 17, while Sunrisers
Hyderabad will take on reigning champion Mumbai Indians on April 18. Royal
Challengers Bangalore now stands at two points along with Rising Pune
Supergiants, Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Lions at the leader-board.
Kolkata Knight Riders will
take on Mumbai Indians today in Kolkata.
