Bangladesh Cafe Attack: Attackers Young and Educated, Cited Themselves with Different Names

Dhaka: Following the attack at Dhaka’s Holey Artisan in Bangadeshi capital Dhaka, government officials have revealed five names of the terrorists who carried out the violence in the Holy month of Ramadan. The terrorist attack at the café killed as many as 20 people while 13 were rescued with severe injuries.
The Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility of the attack.

The Bangladeshi Officials have identified five of the gunmen as Akash, Bikash, Don, Badhon and Ripon. However another source said that three of these attackers used different names: Nibras Islam, Meer Saameh Mubasher and Rohan Imtiaz. Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has noted that, “They (terrorists) grew up here. However, their family may remain unaware of their involvement into militancy and terrorism.” 


Reports are that friends and classmates of the three terrorists said that all of them were 21 to 27 years of old and were missing for the last few months. The terrorists were students of a top private university in Dhaka and was said to go for higher studies at Malaysia’s Monash University. 
Bangladesh Prime Minister Seikh Hasina paid homage to the dead at the Army Stadium in Dhaka’s Banani area on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, another update from a pro-Islamic State Twitter account saying that it will carry attacks at Heathrow, Los Angeles International and New York Kennedy airports during the July 4. Reports are that the threats were not immediately verified, but had heightened security in all flights and other sensitive places.
