Malda: A middle-aged couple and their round-the clock
domestic help were found dead in their house at Malda Town. All the three
bodies, as stated by police, were found with their throats slit and in a pool
of blood in their two-storey house. Police found injuries in head and neck of
all three bodies also.
Ramratan Agarwala (58), wife Anju (55) and their domestic
help Ganesh Uth (60) used to stay in a prosperous neighborhood in Malda town.
Ganesh joined the household as a help six months ago. While bodies of Ganesh
and Ramratan were found together just in front of the main door of the house,
Anju’s body was lying in a separate room in the first floor.
Ramratan was a railway contractor, land broker and brick kiln
owner. Their house was close to the NH 34.
As the Malda police has asserted to EXIN Times, motive
behind the murders are not clear yet. But the cupboards and lockers were looted
while police is trying to calculate the exact amount of valuables in those. In
order to frame every minute detail about the crime, police had collected CCTV
footage from a printing press, located opposite Agarwala’s house.
“The footage shows Ramratan arriving at the house around
11.25 last night on his motorbike. He was seen speaking on his mobile phone. He
pressed the calling bell and waited for around 10 minutes before the door was
opened,” said an officer.
He also stated that they found a person with a hoodie
entered into the house at 10.30 am and left after some time. While the motive
is unclear, police is suspecting a contract from the railways for making an over-bridge
that Agarwala grabbed recently, might be the cause behind.
EXIN Times sources have asserted that the police have
transferred the triple murder case to the CID.
Ramratan and Anju are survived by three daughters, two married and one study
in Kolkata.
