Mumbai: Indian actor Dia Mirza has announced that her first
international project Salaam Mumbai,
an Indo-Iranian film, will hit silver screens in coming October. Mirza will be
seen working opposite Iranian actor Mohammad Reza Golzar in the film.
Dia has announced this during launching the cover of Health magazine: “My first international
Iranian film will be releasing in October and I am really looking forward to
that. It was an extraordinary experience, working with an industry that I have
deeply admired and looked up to.” She also noted that Salaam Mumbai is the first project where India and Iran are working
together.
She also added that Golzar, being a superstar in the
Iranian film industry has facilitated their project to appeal to more people.
Saying the journey as a ‘wonderful ride’, the actress has thanked the Iranian people
for showering love and blessings on her, during her stay in Iran for shooting
of Salaam Mumbai.
Reports are that Dia will be seen as a medical student in
the film. Salaam Mumbai will release
in three languages consecutively- Persian, English and Hindi. Mohammad Reza
Golzar, who will play the role as lead male character opposite Dia, is learning
Hindi for the film. Part of the film was shot at Mumbai, India.
With Salaam Mumbai,
Dia Mirza has entered into the club of Indian actresses who are making the
country proud by successfully working in the international projects. The club
already has Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone in it. While Priyanka was seen
in Baywatch and television show Quantico
in the US, Deepika has signed xXx:
The Return of Xander Cage.
