Udaipur

Known for its history, culture, scenic locations and the Rajput-era palaces, Udaipur is one of the major tourist attractions in the world. Located in Rajasthan, India, Udaipur was voted as the best city in the world in 2009 by the Travel+Leisure magazine.



Udaipur has some of the most picturesque lakes in India. The views of the hills in the backdrop are dream-like and are sure to leave you enchanted.
Often called the ‘Venice of the East,’ Udaipur is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in India. An internationally famous destination, Udaipur is home to majestic palaces and havelis, beautiful temples, art galleries, museums and lakes. With greenery in abundance and boat rides to enchant you, you are sure to fall in love with this city.
The capital of the former princely state of Mewar, Udaipur is a culturally and historically rich city and is also a popular wedding destination. The city’s iconic Lake Palace and City Palace are some of India’s most striking architectural marvels.

Udaipur was the setting of many movies, including the 13th James Bond film, Octopussy in 1983.
Much like the rest of Rajasthan, Udaipur too is home to some of the most magnificent forts and palaces in the world and each one of them is worth a visit.

The important fairs and festivals that are closely associated with Udaipur are Mewar Festival and the Shilpgram Fair.
The best time to visit Udaipur is the winter season. The temperature remains comfortable and is apt for visiting the monuments and other places of interest in Udaipur. The best months to visit are September, October, November, December, February and March.

Udaipur is not only one of India’s one of most sought after tourist spots, but it is also one of the world’s most sought after tourist spots and rightfully so.
