Mumbai: Munnabhai-famed
actor Arshad Warsi on Thursday told reporters that the third installment of the
Rajkumar Hirani directed series in waiting for Sanjay Dutt’s biopic to go on
floors.
“That (starting Munna Bhai 3) is an issue as Raju (Hirani)
has to start the Sanjay Dutt biopic and it is getting pushed ahead. Until and
unless he (Hirani) decides he wants to do Munnabhai part three first and then
the Sanjay Dutt biopic… if that happens then we will go first,” Arshad said.
While the first two parts of the Munnabhai-series saw accomplished both by regular viewers and
critics, the audience are now waiting for the third part to get hooked with.
The Munnabhai-series
includes two films- Munnabhai M.B.B.S
(20003) and Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006).
The key roles, Munna, aka Murli Prasad Sharma and Circuit, were made
everlasting by Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi.
Reports are that the biopic of Sanjay Dutt was scheduled to
release on June and is now postponed to next January. However, Warsi paid no
heed to the rumor that he and Dutt won’t be seen in the third part. “I don’t
think it will happen. I doubt,” he added.
However, the confusion on release dates of both of the
films is due to Dutt’s jail sentence in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial
blasts case. The actor came out of jail in February this year and started
working on the pending films.
