Kolkata Police Constituted SIT Team to Investigate Aabesh’s Death

Kolkata: On Monday, the Kolkata police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to boost up the investigation of Aabesh Dasgupta’s death. Aabesh was found profoundly injured and blood-stained on Saturday at noted author Amit Chaudhary’s residence, located in Ballygunge. The 17-year old youth went to the posh Sunny Park residence to attend the birthday party of Chaudhary’s daughter Aruna.
Kolkata Police’s Joint Commissioner Vishal Garg has noted: “A SIT has been formed to investigate the case. A team of forensic experts and doctors today (Monday) visited the crime site and collected samples. We have also interrogated all those who were present at the party.”

The SIT was formed following complaint from Aabesh’s mother Rimjhim Dasgupta who claimed that her son was murdered. The family also blamed police for a sluggish investigation of the case. The reason behind the death is yet to declare by police, as asserted by EXIN Times reports.
In another development, the Kolkata police have said that a team of three, who are still minor, went to buy liquor bottles for the party where Aabesh later found wounded. As the EXIN Times sources has depicted, the postmortem report on the 17-year old boy has noted that there were alcohol in his stomach. A class XII girl, who was present in the party, has admitted the fact and said: “I am not comfortable with alcohol but most of the others were drinking.”
The Dasgupta family have rejected the fact that Aabesh was died due to excessive blood loss and claimed that it as a murder. His mother Rimjhim has said that the youths present in the party ‘know what happened on that evening.’ “I think there are attempts to cover up the issue by giving it an accident angle,” she added.
