British television reality show Strictly
Come Dancing has signed up its youngest professional yet for its upcoming14th
series.
At
20 years old, Chloe Hewitt is the youngest professional dancer to have ever
taken part in the series, meaning she was only eight years old when the show
was first broadcast in 2004.
Chloe
is one six new professionals to join in the new series which will premiere in autumn
2016. J Pritchard, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez, Katya Jones and Oksana Dmytrenko are
the other members of the new professional club.
Chloe
and AJ appeared together as a Latin dance couple on the seventh series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2013. They made
it to the semi-finals before being eliminated. Last year she and Pritchard, 21,
were crowned British Open Youth Latin Champions and also European Youth Latin
Champions. Over
their nine-year competitive career they have been the National Youth Latin
Champions for three years in a row, from 2012 to 2014.
Neil
and Katya are a married couple. Jones is the undefeated four-time British
National Champion and the three-time winner of the World Amateur Latin
Championships with wife Katya.
On
the other hand, Gorka is a live dance show Burn
The Floor dancer. He is among the live dance show’s current cast members. Gorka
has featured in many finals and semifinals the world over, including the WDSF
World Latin Championships, 2010 New York, the WDSF World Cup, 2012 Riga and the
European Cup, 2013 Ukraine.
Oksana
is a former Dancing Of The Star USA
troupe member. She became a member of the first “Troupe” in the show’s 12th
season. She would remain part of the troupe for five seasons,
through season 16. After leaving Dancing
with the Stars, she performed with Ballroom with a Twist. She also choreographed for So You
Think You Can Dance USA.
The other
male professionals on the new series are Kevin Clifton, Brendan Cole, Anton Du
Beke, Pasha Kovalev, Giovanni Pernice and Aljaz Skorjanec, whereas Joanne
Clifton, Karen Clifton, Natalie Lowe, Janette Manrara and Oti Mabuse round up
the female professional contingent.
