An
apartment is going on sale in
London with a record £150million ($197 million) price tag - buying you the
Queen as a neighbour and wonderful views.
The luxury pad in a Grade I listed building in
upmarket Admiralty Arch is 15,000sq ft big - and boasts 12 bedrooms and just as
many bathrooms.
Situated
on The Mall — leading from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham Palace — it is one of the most expensive
apartments in the world.
Previous inhabitants include former PM Winston
Churchill and Lord Mountbatten —while author Ian Fleming worked there while
coming up with the ideas for James Bond.
For that money you are believed to get:
ü Rooms with six metre-high ceilings
ü Antique fittings dating from 1910 with intricate
crests and original fireplaces
ü Off-road valet parking
ü A private entrance and your own lift
ü A 24-hour concierge service plus security
ü Lifetime membership of a private members’ club.
ü The property is reportedly being quietly touted to
rich potential buyers by representatives of Spanish developer Rafael Serrano.
You would have to pay a deposit now and move in within three years.
The multi-millionaire bought a 250-year lease to the
building designed by Sir Aston Webb from the Government for £60million four

He is believed to be offering buyers
the chance to own the huge apartment in its entirety - or split it into up to
four separate flats, ranging from 1,700 to 7100sq ft. The average price is rumoured to be in the region of
£8-9,000 per square foot - bringing it to about £150million in total.
Stamp duty due to the government would be around
£16million on such a property.
Much of the rest of the site is being turned into a
100 bedroom luxury hotel - which many international hotel groups are keen to
get their hands on.
If the Admiralty Arch property sold
for £150m it would surpass London’s previous most expensive flat – at One Hyde
Park that sold for £140m in 2014.
