CPIM-Congress to Continue Its Alliance in West Bengal

Kolkata: Both Congress and CPIM, the members of alliance said that they will continue the tie up and there are no reasons to break down the tie up. EXIN Times sources asserted that while CPI-M State Secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra said in state committee meeting that are no reasons ‘and circumstances for the Left Front to break;’ the state congress also stated that it will continue the policy of ‘caring and sharing.’ 


State congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury asserted that, “We will invite the Left Front to our programs. We are different political parties and don’t decide on political programs together,” noting the alliance.
The statements from the CPIM was told by at the state committee meeting which was attended by leaders like Sitaram Yechury, Prakash Karat, M A Baby and others. Yesterday’s statement from both of the party leaders is assumed to be a follow-up when several Left Front Constituents had criticized the leadership of the CPIM and said that it had opt for an ‘opportunist political alliance’  with congress in the state. The constituents allegedly had termed CPIM as opportunist too, reports by EXIN Times had identified.
Manwhile, CPIM’s Mishra also made ‘allegations’ of malpractices pointing to the state assembly elections, which took place in April-May this year. He said that the voting was not free and fair and everywhere in the state there were interruptions that prevented the voters to cast their vote freely.
