Kolkata: Both Congress and CPIM, the members of alliance
said that they will continue the tie up and there are no reasons to break down
the tie up. EXIN Times sources asserted that while CPI-M State Secretary Surjya
Kanta Mishra said in state committee meeting that are no reasons ‘and
circumstances for the Left Front to break;’ the state congress also stated that
it will continue the policy of ‘caring and sharing.’
State congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury asserted
that, “We will invite the Left Front to our programs. We are different
political parties and don’t decide on political programs together,” noting the
alliance.
The statements from the CPIM was told by at the state
committee meeting which was attended by leaders like Sitaram Yechury, Prakash
Karat, M A Baby and others. Yesterday’s statement from both of the party
leaders is assumed to be a follow-up when several Left Front Constituents had
criticized the leadership of the CPIM and said that it had opt for an
‘opportunist political alliance’ with
congress in the state. The constituents allegedly had termed CPIM as opportunist
too, reports by EXIN Times had identified.
Manwhile, CPIM’s Mishra also made ‘allegations’ of
malpractices pointing to the state assembly elections, which took place in
April-May this year. He said that the voting was not free and fair and
everywhere in the state there were interruptions that prevented the voters to
cast their vote freely.
