Delhi’s contemporary culinary spot, ‘Indian Accent’, managed to
score a spot on the list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurant 2016 list for
the second time. Though the list is called 50 Best, it actually lists 100
of the most acclaimed restaurants on the planet. Sadly, the Indian fine
dining icon has dropped 10 points this year, now ranking at number 87.
Helmed by Chef Manish Mehrotra, the restaurant is
popular for its Meetha Achaar Chilean Spare Ribs, Roast Scallops
Balchao Saboodana Papad, Foie Gras Stuffed Galawat, and
their popular Mishti Doi Cannoli. The restaurant has also bagged the
San Pellegrino Award by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants twice in a row.
Located in The Manor in Delhi’s New Friends Colony, the restaurant
is equal parts posh and classy. It's delectable menu, designed by award winning
chef Manish Mehrotra, fuses Indian flavours with global snazz to create a truly
cosmopolitan melange with a punch of ‘Desi Tadka’ packed right in.
If you can’t fly down to Delhi, ‘Indian Accent’ has set out to
expand its reputation around the world, starting with the Big Apple. The
next time you get those hunger pangs while walking around in New York City, you
know where to go.
As for folks
on homeland, if you value your meal time without any interruption,
these private restaurants will let you avoid all the wailing babies
and whining customers.
Over the years, the
restaurant has won the San Pellegrino Award, given by Asia’s 50 Best
Restaurants, twice consecutively. Mehrotra, the Head Chef, has won American
Express's Best Chef in India award, as well as ‘Foodistan’, NDTV's the reality
TV show, and he is also a member of the prestigious Order of Escoffier
Disciples.
‘Indian Accent’, which is
part of the Old World Hospitality Group, opened in Delhi in 2009, and has been
voted India’s Bes Restaurant at the Asia’s Best Restaurants Event, twice now.
It costs Rs 4000
(excluding VAT and extra charges) for two people to get a fine dining
experience in the Delhi branch of the restaurant.
