US Supreme Court Supports Abortion Law with 5-3 Ruling

Washington: On Monday, the United States Supreme Court has ‘handed a victory to abortion rights advocates,’ and nullified strict regulations on abortion. The law imposed yesterday also incorporated doctors and abortion facilities following its critics ‘contended specifically designed to shut down the clinics.’

Reports are that the 5-3 ruling was an end of the 2013 law placed over the women of the country saying that ‘women exercising their constitutional right to end a pregnancy established in the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.’ The nine member court was a member short on Monday and has seen a controversial death of Justice Antonin Scalia on February 13, this year, who consistently opposed the abortion law.
We conclude that neither of these provisions offers medical benefits sufficient to justify the burdens upon access that each imposes. Each places a substantial obstacle in the path of women seeking a previability abortion, each constitutes an undue burden on abortion access… and each violates the Federal Constitution,” said the writing by Justice Stephen Breyer.
Justice Breyer was later joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Anthony Kennedy, which also decided the ruling of the court.
