Kolkata: West Bengal government has decided to incorporate
new strategies over the export conditions of the micro, small and medium
enterprises sector in the state. According to EXIN Times sources, the government
is aimed to promote engineering and textiles products in the international arena
made by workers and manufactures of the state.
Reports are that the State government has already signed a
memorandum of understanding with the Export Import Bank of India (Exim Bank). Exim
Bank agreed with the contract and agreed to provide financial assistance as
well as advisory support to MSME industry.
Also, the state government has undertaken an initiative to build
an infrastructure that will facilitate the MSME products to export to various
countries. The aim is to not only help the state economy, but also to create
demands of the products in the international market. A senior state government official
asserted that apart from the advisory board and financial supports, Exim Bank
will also provide loans to the manufactures and for exporting of engineering,
textile products and garments
“The state MSME department had taken up a series of new projects to contribute to the development of the socio-economic condition of artisans across the state by giving them a platform to showcase their handicrafts,” state government sources said.

Also, under the rural craft hub that was introduced in 11
different locations across the state by the WB government, as many as 3000
people were initially involved in the project while the count is estimated to
escalate upto 15,000 in the next few months.
