Two Indians Held With Alleged Rape Charges in Zimbabwe Stirred the Indian Cricket Team

Harare: Rape charges against two Indian nationals at Zimbabwe have stirred the Indian cricket team that is playing in the ongoing India-Zimbabwe ODI series. The two accused have been arrested on alleged rape charges. Reports are that the two people were identified as Krishna Satyanarayan, who is associated with ITW Sports, and Rajkumar Krishnan, a Zambia-based businessman.


As police officers said, both of the Indians were staying at Meikles Hotel, where the rape is assumed to take place. Also, it is the same hotel where the Indian cricket team is also staying. The worst amid the incident is a cricket from the Indian cricket team is also speculated to be linked with the crime.
“Thank God, it’s sorted now. Some of us didn’t even know something like this had happened. So when we started getting calls from back home, we were shocked,” said a cricket from the Indian cricket team after the accused were identified by Harare police.

The rape charges were officially admitted by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) on Friday morning and were announced to the press by Charity Charamba, Senior Assistant Commissioner, ZRP.
