Kolkata: President
Pranab Mukherjee postponed his three-day-long visit to West Bengal due to
medical restrictions. He was scheduled to visit the state on Monday and attend
13 meetings and functions between June 27 and 29.
President
Mukherjee’s list of functions also included inauguration of Akashvani Maitree on June 28 but is temporarily delayed. “They have all been
postponed,” an Akashvani official said. Along with the President, West Bengal
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was also said to be present in the event. Akashvani Maitree is an initiative by the All India Radio to re-launch its
special Bangla services for
neighboring country Bangladesh after six years.
According to current
news, as EXIN Times sources have asserted that President Mukherjee was
restricted from hectic schedule due to his health conditions. “He has been
asked to avoid travel in this heat and restrict himself to Delhi. It is
exhaustion from his busy schedule,” reports said.
