Shah Rukh Khan & Akshay Kumar Makes It To The Forbes List Of World’s 100 Highest Paid Celebrities

New York: Besides being Box-Office magnets and superstars in their own rights, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar have now made it among the world's highest-paid celebrities of 2016, according to an annual list by Forbes.



 While Shah Rukh Khan was ranked ranks 86th on the list with earnings of $ 33 million, Akshay Kumar came in on the 94th spot with $ 31.5 million earnings. Shah Rukh shared the 86th spot with actor Robert Downey Jr and Melissa McCarthy, basketball player James Harden and rockband Dave Matthews Band. Akshay shared the 94th spot with magician Penn & Teller and actor Brad Pitt.
About Shah Rukh Khan, the Forbes team wrote that the Fan star “continues to rule Bollywood’s box office” with lead roles in hit Dilwale and many others, earning multimillion dollars upfront fees and a cut of the back end for his efforts.He also cashes in on endorsement deals for dozens of brands most Americans have likely never of.”
While on Akshay Kumar, the Forbes team wrote that, “One of Bollywood's busiest leading men, Kumar banked top rupee for three hit films in our scoring period. The action star bolsters his earnings endorsing a wider range of products than most Hollywood shills.”
The prestigious Forbes list has been topped by the American singer Taylor Swift with earnings of $170 million.
Boyband One Direction and author James Patterson were ranked as 2nd and 3rd, with an earning of $ 110 million and $ 95 million respectively.
TV personality Dr Phil McGraw ($ 88 million), footballer Cristiano Ronaldo ($ 88 million), comedian Kevin Hart ($ 87.5 million), radio personality Howard Stern ($ 85 million), footballer Lionel Messi ($ 81.5 million), musician Adele ($ 80.5 million), and talk show host Rush Limbaugh ($ 79 million) rounded up the top ten.
The youngest person to make it to the list is 22-year-old musician Justin Bieber ($ 56 million). On the flipside, 74-year-old musician Paul McCartney is the oldest person to make it to the list ($ 56.5 million). While Bieber is ranked at 26, McCartney is ranked one step ahead at 25.

A total of 15 women have made it to top 100 this year. Interestingly, the list begins with a woman ranked one (Taylor Swift), and ends with two women ranked at 99 (therefore no one is ranked 100). The two women ranked at 99 are model Gisele Bundchen and singer Britney Spears.
