A mother, who thought
she was having a baby girl, gave birth to a baby boy, and her reaction to
the news was priceless.
Australian couple
Koto Nakamura and Sina Niakansafy were told they were having a baby girl. For
weeks, everything was all pretty in pink while they planned to welcome a
daughter into their lives. They even chose a name —Hinata.
On the day of the
delivery, Nakamura heard a crying baby…boy. Needless to say, she was completely
shocked. “I thought everyone was joking,” Nakamura told TODAY Parents. “I lost
words and I couldn’t believe it until I saw his bottom.”
Australian shooter Jes Jackson has documented plenty of births, but she
doesn’t expect to ever capture another image like Nadamura’s look of utter
shock. “I knew I had managed to capture the image,” Jackson told
InsideEdition.com. But with all the excitement, laugher and cheering, she
worried “it might not have been in focus.”
Nakamura’s priceless
reaction to the news was even captured on camera by her birth photographer
Jessica Jackson. “This was one of the most amazing moments — a roller coaster
of emotions in just a few short minutes,” Jackson told TODAY Parents.
After the shock
subsided in Nakamura, she and her husband embraced their newborn son. “I
was shocked for a few seconds, and then it didn’t matter if it was a girl or a
boy,” said Nakamura.
They later named him
Taiga — meaning “big and gracious” in Japanese, TODAY Parents reported.
