This was followed by a renewed contractor to Simplex in 2014 with a deal of more 130 crore.
Later on 2015, the state government initiated to ‘make way for construction of pillars’ for the proposed metro wing. Also, Kamarhati, baranagar and south dum dum municipalities were distributed RS. 25 crore each to rehabilitate 932 families from the encroached lands, EXIN Times reported. “We have told government officials that it would be difficult to complete the Metro projects in the absence of a clear political will,” RNVL officials said. Yesterday’s meeting also had discussions about the Joka-BBD metro project, another metro wing kept on hold due to land encroachments and rehabilitation issues.
