Narada Sting Operation Case: Complaint Filed against Narada CEO by Mayor’s Wife

Kolkata: On Friday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ordered a probe into the Narada sting operation case; while it was only Saturday when Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee’s wife Ratna lodged a complaint against Mathew Samuel, the CEO of Narada news.

The complaint included several offences including charges of defamation against Samuel, as police sources said EXIN Times.
The move is assumed to be a follow up of CM’s order who has directed a probe of the Narada sting operation where many of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders were seen taking money as bribes, including Sovan. Police said that, “On the basis of Ratna Chatterjee's complaint, a case has initiated for several offences including forgery, defamation and criminal conspiracy.”
Following the complaint filing, Ratna said: “Baseless allegations have been made by the portal with the aim of bringing disrepute to my family and defame us. This has caused a lot of agony to us, so I filed the complaint seeking action against those responsible for it.”
When EXIN Times went to ask Samuel’s reaction in this context, he said that the complaint is a plan and conspiracy. He also added that he will wait until Calcutta High Court orders the final sentence. Notable, Kolkata Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the sting.
