Los
Angeles: American actor and filmmaker Woody Allen’s latest film, Café Society is still weeks away from
opening in theaters, but already he’s gearing up to get another project off the
ground. The yet untitled flick is scheduled to begin shooting this fall and
English actor Kate Winslet is currently in “final negotiations” to star in
it.
Allen
will handle both writing and directing duties. The plot for the movie has yet
to be revealed. He will also co-produce alongside the usual suspects, his
younger sister Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum, and Edward Walson, all of whom
had a hand in the Allen movies Irrational
Man and Magic In The Moonlight.
If
Winslet jumps on board, then it will be the first time in her twenty-year
career that she will work with Allen.
Allen’s
Cafe Society, starring Jesse
Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart, bowed at the Cannes Film Festival and opens in
theaters on July 16. Winslet is coming off her Oscar-nominated role in Steve Jobs and was also recently seen in
Open Road’s crime drama Triple Nine.
She just wrapped production on New Line’s Collateral Beauty opposite Will Smith and recently boarded the Fox
drama The Mountain Between Us,
co-starring Idris Elba.
Winslet,
40, is a seven-time Oscar nominee and is a one-time Oscar winner. Allen, 80,
has four Oscars to his credit from a whopping 24 nominations.
The
details of the film are shrouded in secrecy, but it will be the 47th movie he
has directed in his career, which now spans over five decades.
