ICC World T20 - West Indies Beats India By 7 Wickets To Reach Finals

Mumbai: In the second semi-finals match of 2016 ICC World T20, West Indies defeated India by seven wickets at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Thursday to reach the finals, while crushing the dreams of India to lift this year’s trophy.
Winning the toss, West Indies chose to field first. Virat Kohli was India’s highest scorer with a whopping 89 runs off 47 balls. He remained not out till end. Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane also struck gold for India by scoring 43 and 40 runs respectively. The trio’s deep success build up pressures for West Indies and India looked pretty safe. India finished their innings at an impressive 192 runs off just two wickets. Andre Russell and Samuel Badree each took one wicket for West Indies.
From West Indies innings, Lendl Simmons emerged as the top scorer with 82 runs, followed by Johnson Charles and Russell who scored 52 and 43 runs respectively. Virat Kohli, Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah each took one wickets for India. Despite setting a strong target and putting a huge effort, India lost after West Indies scored 196 runs off three wickets in 19.4 overs.

The final is now going to be fought between two former champions - West Indies and England (Winner of the first semi-final match) on April 3 at the Eden Garden stadium in Kolkata. While England won the 2010 edition of the game, West Indies won the 2012 edition.
