IPL Season 9 - Mumbai Indians Beats Royal Challengers Bangalore By 6 Wickets

Mumbai: In the fourteenth League match of 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL), reigning champion Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets on Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.


Winning the toss, Mumbai Indians elected to field first. Travis Head was Royal Challengers Bangalore’s highest scorer with 37 runs. He was followed by Virat Kohli (33 runs), Abraham Benjamin de Villiers (29 runs), Sarfaraz Naushad Khan (28 runs) and Kannaur Lokesh Rahul (23 runs). Jasprit Jasbirsingh Bumrah was Mumbai Indians’ best bowler as he took three wickets off 31 runs from four overs. At the end of 20 overs, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 170 runs off seven wickets.
In the second innings, Rohit Sharma was Mumbai Indians’ highest scorer with 62 runs. He was followed by Kieron Adrian Pollard (39 runs). Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu (31 runs) and Joseph Charles Buttler (28 runs). Pollard remained not out. Sayed Iqbal Abdulla was Royal Challengers Bangalore’s best bowler as he took three wickets off 40 runs from four overs. Mumbai Indians clinched victory in 18 overs when they scored 171 runs off four wickets.
Sharma was named ‘Player Of The Match’.


Mumbai Indians now stands at four points. Royal Challengers Bangalore has two points.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will next face Rising Pune Supergiants on April 22 in Pune, while Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Daredevils on April 23 in Delhi.
Gujarat Lions will face Sunrisers Hyderabad today in Rajkot.
