After widespread
speculations regarding their relationship status, Cricketer Virat Kohli and
actor Anushka Sharma have called it quits. After courting each other for two
years, the couple ended their relationship due to both of them wanting separate
things from each other.
The news of the couple splitting
comes in closely after the splits of two other Bollywood couples - Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina
Kaif and Farhan Akhtar- Adhuna Bhabani. Although the 27 year Filmfare award
winning actor chose to remain silent on the matter, her beloved ex took to
social media to express his feelings. After unfollowing her ladylove on Twitter
and Instagram, Virat uploaded, deleted and re-uploaded a photograph of him,
originally captioned, `Heartbroken'.
According to sources,
things turned sour for the couple when Anushka turned down the 27 year old
cricketer’s offer to marry him now, as she believe that both of them are very
young and they ought to concentrate on their careers first. This feud fuelled
further when Virat took some time off before leaving for his Australia tour in
order to spend a holiday with Anushka as both of them would stay busy for the
next two months for their respective work. But since Anushka bagged a role in
‘Sultan’, she was unable to schedule some time off for going on a holiday with
Virat.
The cricketer was
spotted at actor and model Angad Bedi’s birthday bash recently, where according
to eyewitness, he was seen dancing while proclaiming “I’m single, let’s dance”.
A guest at the party revealed that Virat had been confiding in them that he was
"cloistered around his controlling girlfriend"
Anushka, who is known
for her movies like NH10, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Band Baaja Baaraat, PK and Rab Ne
Bana Di Jodi, is still keeping the paparazzi afloat with her silence over the
matter. Two months back, she revealed her relation on The Anupama Chopra Show. “I
am in a relationship with Virat and he wants me to come and watch him play and
I want to watch him. Why the hell am I going to listen to anyone else? We are
the same people actually, except that I don’t have that kind of aggression. He
is emotionally driven, I am chilled out, and we both don’t want to become
pawns”, she said. She received enough flak over social media for the poor
performance of Virat at a World Cup match between India and Australia in 2015.
Although none of them
have made an official statement regarding their split as of now, but rumors
also are running that Virat is still hopeful of wooing Anushka back and is not
over her as of now. The former ICC ODI Player of the Year is now going off to
play the 2016 Asia Cup ‘Heartbroken’ as per his Instagram status.
